Seeing The Lion King Musical At The Academy of Music
Last week, I had the chance to see The Lion King musical going on in the city of Philadelphia right now, and it was an amazing night and one I will remember for a long time.
I spent the night there with my girlfriend, Pattyann, and her three grown children. I’m not sure who was more excited for the night, Pattyann or her kids. Either way, I know for a fact everyone had a great time, including me!
The musical took place at the Academy of Music, and it is a perfect venue to catch a musical. They do an amazing job. The academy was filled with parents and their children to see the theater musical production of Disney’s The Lion King.
The musical opens with some of the actors dancing down the aisle to the stage and to see the faces of all the kids watching was truly endearing. Not to mention Pattyann’s face gleaming since she got to spend the night with all her favorite people.
Through dance and song, the incredible actors portray the animals in the movie and they are amazing. They were able to interpret the story of young Simba struggling to forgive himself after the tragic death of his father, Mufasa. It was a refreshing new take on The Lion King, for sure.
Oh, and while standing outside waiting for everyone to arrive, we got a chance to see some of the Indianapolis Colts players coming from back dinner when they were heading back to their hotel. The Colts played the Eagles Thursday night at the Linc, in the final preseason game for both teams.
What a fun night with some pretty special people. I highly recommend you see it if you have the chance, you won’t be disappointed.
The Lion King show is taking place now through Sunday, September 10th. It is a must-see before it finishes its run for anyone six years or older. It is incredible and pretty much a Broadway-like production.
Tickets are still available every night for the remainder of the shows right here!

Delaware Beaches Are Nice Change Up From The Jersey Shore
Over the last week, I did a lot of fun things while away from the WMGK studio. As I wrote about yesterday, I was down the shore for a bit in New Jersey and had a great meal over at Twisties Tavern on the Bay. However, the Jersey Shore was not the only place I visited on vacation.
The other place I went definitely some similarities to the Jersey Shore, like, sharing the same ocean and all, but there are also some cool differences at this place. If you have not guessed by now, I also hit up Rehoboth and Dewey this week!
I love the Delaware beach towns and overall there is a totally different feel to them than that of the Jersey Shore towns – but don’t get me wrong, I love both and each has their own unique characteristics about them!
While there, we took a nice 30-mile bike ride around Lewes, Cape Henlopen Park, North Shore, Rehoboth Beach, and Dewey Beach. Myself, Pattyann, Marisa Magnatta, plus her husband and my friend, Matt Lindenmuth, all had a great time on the ride!
We also went out for a boat ride on the Indian River Inlet to Paradise Beach Bar and then had a bite to eat at Dewey Beer Co. By the way, Matt is one of the main brewers there and has a deep knowledge of beers. Plus, he has a pretty good basketball hat game, like myself, so I scored a couple of cool Dewey Beer snapbacks. I was stoked!
Overall, I had an amazing time down at the Delaware Beaches!
As I said, I am definitely a Jersey Shore guy, but the Delaware Beaches are a nice change up from my normal summer routine! There are definitely a lot more options as far as retail goes, and more Wawas, so who could complain about that? Also, I can’t forget to mention that they are a lot more bicycle friendly.
I can’t wait to head back down again to see what’s in store next!
