Does “Turn up the A/C” Mean Make It Hotter Or Colder? We Debated!
It may seem petty, but it’s a relatable quandary we’ve all likely encountered. What is the proper way to talk about adjusting the thermostat?? And seeing as our business is built on the bedrock of words as our main tool, we thought it was a worthy debate:
When someone requests to “turn up the a/c,” do you take that to mean “turn the target temperature up?” Or would that mean “make it work more,” from an appliance standpoint, i.e. lower the target temperature?
